Village gained its initial momentum at Startup Weekend Switzerland in Zurich, where the concept won first prize, by posing a question: what does it actually take for someone to feel at home in a new country? Not just settled on paper, but genuinely comfortable, connected, and confident in their daily life.
After 50+ conversations with newcomers and expat families in Switzerland, a clear picture emerged. The practical knowledge layer was fragmented and hard to navigate. Social integration took longer than it needed to, often because people didn't know where to start. And the experience of partners and spouses deserved more structure and support than most were getting.
Village was built to address all three, in one place, co-created with people living the experience in real time.

To help newcomers feel at home in Switzerland. We believe belonging isn't a nice-to-have. It's what makes the difference between someone who thrives and someone who leaves.
The Team
Isabel (Izzie) Küchler, Founder & CEO
Izzie is Swiss, based in Zurich, and holds a background in psychology. She founded Village after recognizing that relocation support leaves too much unaddressed, particularly on the social and cultural side. She leads product strategy, content, and business development.
Mishita Kesarwani, Head of Engineering
Mishita, a Senior Software Engineer based in Zurich, joined Village full-time in February 2026 , bringing both technical expertise and lived experience as a recent newcomer to Switzerland herself. She leads all engineering and product development.
